David tackled the first in the Harry Potter series this week and finished it in only 5 days!

Today, Tyler finished the third book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. There are a lot of people who get all teary about milestones in their children's lives - first steps, first words, etc. I'm not one of those people, but the first time my children sat down and read to me on their own brought me to tears. Talking about it today still does. Maybe it's because I am a teacher and see first hand how hard it is for students who struggle with reading, but somehow I knew on that night in kindergarten when the boys starting reading on their own that they were going to be ok. Now I am just thrilled that they are shaping up to be kids who love to read on their own. What a blessing!
