Weekend Madness
This weekend, Tyler, Landon and I put 600 miles on the car in 36 hours and attended 3 great celebrations. We surprised Grammy & Grandpa in Whispering Pines with 20 of their closest friends at a lovely dinner at Valenti's. They were shocked and teary. It was perfect! On Sunday, we went to a bridal shower for Courtney in Lexington, followed by a birthday dinner for Nana & Papaw. Phew. We are still tired.
Today's picture is Landon with Bobbi Pace, better known as Granny (their Nana's mom). The boys are all very blessed to have memories of their great-grandmother!

One Month Old
Landon had his one-month check up today and did great! He's put on 2 lbs and grown 2 inches already. He's in the 98th percentile for his height and weight. Height Predictors say that he'll be around 6'5", just like what it has said about the twins. It looks like I might end up being the short one in the family. Who'd have guessed?!
David's Turn to Shine
I posted Tyler's picture to start soccer season earlier. I can't leave out David! He is playing football again this year, after a try at soccer and a year off. He couldn't be happier! He was a good little soccer play in first grade, but he didn't have the passion for it that Tyler does. It was a good thing we took the year off of football though... as a kindergardener, David played flag football in Washington. He definitely had a head for the game and enjoyed it, but the whole "flag" concept was tough for him. After amassing 80 yards of penalties in one game and getting ejected from another (for "hitting" kids, which was really just him being way bigger than others his age), he was devastated. We decided that he'd have to wait until he was old enough to play tackle football before we did it again.
And here we are! David is working very hard and shows a lot of natural ability. Games start this week, so Saturdays will definitely be fun times here in the mountains! David is proud to be a Brave!

Soccer!
Tyler started his new soccer season today! Tyler had played soccer for 2 years in Washington, and we took last year off after the last minute move to the mountains. Tyler wasn't sure that he wanted to play this year, but as the first practice drew near, he became more and more excited. About half way through practice, he ran over to us to get some Gatorade and exclaimed "This is so much fun!" then ran back to his team. After he practice, he went on and on about how much fun it was and how he's good at it (and he is quite the natural). That was a great mommy feeling, for sure! He can't wait to get back out there later this week :)

My Boys of Fall
David is loving playing football this year. The schedule is kicking my butt. That's all I'm going to say about that.
What a Good Big Brother
David & Tyler had another excellent check up at the dentist today. No cavities - woot! David is loving being a big brother and takes on the role so well. He likes to brag about how cute his little brother is to his friends, but he always qualifies it by saying that he's the most cute when he's not screaming and crying!

First Day of School
Ahhh! David and Tyler are now officially third graders. I can't believe it. They were up bright and early for school this morning and ready for a great day. We'll see what tomorrow morning is like :) Landon and I enjoyed a quiet day at home. Like I told Davy, it was quiet, uneventful, relaxed and lazy. In other words, it was just plain weird. I missed being with my new students today, but I certainly am loving being at home with our sweet little boy!

David's Turn
Of course, David got his own week at "Camp Grandparents" too. You'd think that after a week away from home, your eight year old son would miss his mom and dad. Apparently, when golf camp, pool swimming, extra rounds of golf, kayaking and fishing with Grammy and Grandpa are involved, this is not the case! At least David had football practice and a cute little brother to entice him to come home, or else I don't know that we could have enticed him!
