David chose mini-golf for his pick of events yesterday in the mountains. It may have actually been one of the boys' first tries at it. They did great! I, despite making back to back hole-in-one's, lost to Davy. Drat!

I am finally getting a handle on understanding Geometer's Sketchpad. I made this review of midpoints and midsegments of triangles today. And I even know what it means!

Tonight David was awarded his trophy for being selected for the 7/8 year old All Star team. He is super proud of his hard work and achievement. The boys' first tournament is next weekend!

I am happy to report that I was unplugged for the weekend, but I still wanted to make sure that my days were accounted for :)

This weekend, we took the boys fishing in Whispering Pines. They really enjoy it and usually do very well. Grandpa decided to show off with his fly rod and landed a small fish pretty quickly. If I ever wished I had a video camera ready, this was the moment. He handed over the pole to Tyler and showed him how to pull in the line... kind of. Tyler was great with pulling down the line and understanding that he had to let go, reach up quickly and grab the next section of line. The part that eluded him was holding on to the part he already pulled. It took him about 5 tries before he figured this out as the line slipped back up line a piece of elastic each time. Grandpa and I laughed so hard. Tyler didn't think it was quite so funny :)
