Promises

Tonight we rushed out the door, rather resentfully I must add, to make it to Tyler's soccer practice in Cullowhee. Just as we got about half way there, my phone rang and it was the coach canceling practice. At hat moment, the sky filling with light from a break in the clouds of the coming cold front. A full 180 degree rainbow appeared right in front of us. Wow! What a beautiful reminder, amid the chaos, of God's promises to us!

The Turtle

Landon will talk and talk to this turtle that hangs over his bassinet. He's starting to take it personally that it doesn't talk back with him!

Grammy's Here

Grammy & Grandpa came to visit this weekend to catch David & Tyler's soccer and football games. Of course, they got in some quality Landon time while they were here too!

Cherokee Heritage Day & the Fair

Today we had a day off from school to honor Cherokee Heritage Day, which is also children's day at the fair. The boys had a blast enjoying the rides on this beautiful day. David & Tyler's Horizons class did a project about Nancy Ward, as the theme to this year's fair is honoring Cherokee matriarchs. They had a great time learning about Nancy Ward and her life.

Parade Day

Today was the Cherokee parade to kick off fair week. Lots of local groups were represented in this year's parade, including David's football team. Tyler didn't walk or ride in the parade, but he sure had a good time collecting candy!

Landon's Baba-tism

Today, our little Landon was baptized (or baba-tized as David says) into the church family at Second United Church of Christ, where Davy and I were married and the twins were baptized. Nana, Papaw, Allison, Grammy, Grandpa and Lauren were able to be there to support us in this special event. Landon continued his weekend of doing beautifully, and he even giggled when Reverend Bill poured water over his head.

Celebrate!

This weekend we got to spend time in Lexington to celebrate Chris & Courtney's wedding. What a special time! The twins were groomsmen, and very handsome ones at that. I have to say that I was the luckiest girl there, considering 3/7 of the groomsmen belonged to me :) We also had a have a "waiting list" for Landon, who met many of his family members for the first or second time this weekend. He was a real champ and hammed it up for everyone as he was passed around.
